Mad as a Hatter!

"Have you any idea why a raven is like a writing desk?"
-Mad Hatter

I can list down pages of reasons why I love Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, but for this post, lets stick to the character "Mad Hatter" in Alice in Wonderland.

"There is a place, like no place on earth. Some say to survive it, you need to be mad as a hater. Which luckily, I am."
-Mad Hatter

I chose this character for my previous semester's photography assignment. We had to choose a known character and using it to promote a Malaysian product. Because "Mad Hatter" loves tea parties, why not promote our thirst quenching infamous Teh Tarik ;)

My expectations about the character were not disappointed after watching the movie (credits to Johnny Depp). Although the movie is too childish to my liking, I still admire and love the character “Mad Hatter”. The character is vibrant, colorful, mad and fun, which are the eccentricity that I deeply appreciates.

I love how acting gives us the open curtain to exaggerate and explore the insane part of ourselves, which is no wonder the character is my choice for this assignment. I am truly grateful to my friend, Ignas Versinskas who was willing to help model for this assignment. He was extremely easy to work with and a very talented actor, which was awesome because he did a lot crazy poses for the shoot! I also had helped from my good friend Kubendera during the photo shoot, thanks a lot dude!

So, without further ado, here are my top two photographs that I submitted for the assignment:

1) Long shot of the character
2) Close up of the character
And here are some extra photos for your viewing pleasure!

That is actually not a real Teh Tarik!
It's actually tea + soy milk + soap for bubbles lol
Teh tarik was out of stock lol so we improvised
"you're terribly late you know" -Mad Hatter
"I'm investigating things that begins with the letter M" -Mad Hatter
"We're still having a tea!" -Mad Hatter
Did I fell in the rabbit hole?
me gusta!
bitch I'm fabulous!
hehehahahohohihi
Oh, by the way, we also had to create a poster using the character. So here's mine :)

Hope these photos brightens up your day. I still laugh going through all the photos we took. It was almost 200, that's ALOT! Thank you so much for those who helped in making the shoot fun and awesome!
